Hey Maddies,
After watching the Top Ten of 1980 I was very surprised. I personally thought Madness
were destined for Number One. Don't get me wrong, Bad Manners are great and all, but
Madness had (and still have) a far better musical and lyrical talent than Buster ever
did. For
instance, the lyrics to "baggy trousers" compared to "ne ne nu nu nu na nu" or
whatever it is.
I think Madness should have been number one, then the Specials, then Bad Manners.
PS - For those who hate Steps, and have Sky tv, you may have heard of a program called
"Rock Profile", which basically takes the pee out of certain rock and pop artists.
They had
one recently on Steps, and they do often repeat them, so watch out for it!
