And on we go, into the top 90!

88= (5) {2} <0> Day On The Town [DNC] [DNC]

Sharing 88th place is another new entry. Day On The Town was the 13th and
final track on 1981's 7 album. Written by Suggs and Chris. Like many early
Madness tracks, this has a very reggae beat and a bleak outlook of what it
was like living in London in the late 70's/ early 80's.

88= (5) {2} <0> One's Second Thoughtlessness  [57=] [DNC]

Down from no. 57 last time, despite receiving votes from two people (against
one last time). Written by Woody and Lee. First appeared on the 12" single
release of Wings Of A Dove in 1983. I believe that Lee takes lead vocals on
this one.

88= (5) {2} <0> No Money  [NEW] [-]

The second track from Wonderful to make it onto our chart, showing that the
boys must be doing something right! This was the 12th and final track on
Wonderful and was written by Woody, Lee and N Woodgate, who if my memory
serves me right is Woody's brother (Nick, I think)

87 (5) {3} <0> Dreaming Man [NEW] [-]

Another new track, this one taken from the b-sides of Johnny The Horse. For
some reason, I can't find the CD this appears on! Maybe I didn't buy it, but
I can't believe that! I have the other one though. Can't tell you who wrote
it, but I'd guess at Chas!

86 (6) {1} <0> The Harder They Come [85=] [DNC]

A fall of just one place on the chart for the Jimmy Cliff song covered by
Madness at Madstock I. Released as a single on Go! Discs in Nov 1992, it
reached no 44 in the UK charts.

85 (6) {2} <0> Sweetest Girl [54] [26=]

I'm sure many of you out there know that this is my least favourite Madness
single, though it's still one million times better than anything that
Pond... sorry Westlife have done. Written by and originally recorded by
Green Garside of Scritti Pollitti, it reached No. 35 in the UK charts in
1986.

84 (6) {3} <0> Mistakes [DNC] [DNC]

The b-side of One Step Beyond makes a welcome appearance on our chart for
the first time. It was written by Mike and one time band member and best
mate John Hasler.

83 (7) {1} <0> Tarzan's Nuts [74=] [55=]

Written by Mike and Chas, Tarzan's Nuts first appeared on the One Step
Beyond album in 1979. I'm not quite sure if you'd classify it as an
instrumental. There is some talking at the beginning though! Apparently
released as a single in Holland, but I've no idea how it fared in the Dutch
charts.

82 (8) {1} <0> Shadow On The House [25] [34=]

A favourite of mine, in fact I was the only to vote for it this time.
Madness go country! Written by Chrissy Boy, this was the b-side of the
original release of It Must Be Love.

81 (8) {2} <0> White Heat [89=] [DNC]

The first song on our chart to have actually risen since last time, White
Heat sees a rise of eight places. This was written by Suggs and Chas and was
featured on Madness' 1985 album Mad Not Mad.

So, that's it for the moment. I hope to start running down the top 80
tomorrow, so until then...

Goodnight.

Andrew.
