Hullo therrr!!!
When the Weeman goes on the randan he does it properly. Not content with a
few pints in Glesga, I decided to board Ryanair from Prestwick and have a
few refreshments in London. Was it more than coincidence that my wee break
coincided nicely with the Crunch! gig at the 100 club? What do you think!
Stepping from the aircraft, onto the tarmac i could feel the heat pounding
down apon me. Gray had left a message but not his number..d'oh!
Main destination for Thursday night was Camden Town, and the Dublin Castle.
But getting out the underground I cant go any further without a Sausage and
Onion Baguette from the best steak sandwhich shop in town. Cannae mind the
name of the wee kios but feck, if yer hungry go there next time yer in
toon!! Into the DC, immediately spy Gray at the bar, and get introduced to
the legendary Chris Carter-Pegg, and another couple of folk who through my
drinking their names escape me. I had to shoot off early in preperation for
the big day the next day, but not before the girls arrive, namely the Lanes,
Emma and Jerney. I hear the night was a good 'un.
Friday morning was spenmt round the markets and shops etc, then back into
The DC. The usual bunch were there, Fiona L, Chezza and Chris ' C'mon the
hoops' Mountain Boy, Maya ( is that the spelling?) from NY, Caz the girls
from the ngioht before, Simesy and others im sure.
The next pub was err the Bath House. Now that was good, packed full of folk,
lot of the tmml bunch were there, including Mr.Swandale himself and king
Scat. Many drinks were bought and drank, then onto the gig. I hanbd the
geezer the flyer and a tenner. He says .. right, £3.. so i'm like, cool
cheers!! Sadly he was only telling himself how much change he had to give
me. I wish it had been £3 cos effing hell... I know you English folks
sometimes think of us as tight with our money- but no wonder with the prices
of the bevvy! So i felt quite justified in winding up some barmaids. What,
no free Tshirts?? Whats that? The Large wouldnt fit me? You calling me fat?
Whats that? No Dry Roasted nuts? Then me and Simesy got asked to keep it
down during a discussion on the old firm. Class!
The support band Reece were blinding. Someone mentioned something abotu them
getting a deal with a TV Show? Details please! Then spotted Thommo in the
crowd so he got his now usual whisky off of me before the gig an i bolted
away back to get my place right at the front as the band prepared to come
on.
And what a performance from Crunch. Pure class, Sheer entertainment. Has to
be one of the best, the band seemed relaxed and were in top form. What
topped it all off for me was when Thommo went offstage then returned with
champgne in ice with a few glasses. He started to hand them out, and i
couldnt believe it when he gave one to me. We had to wait though until he
poured though. But yeah, a nice drop of bubbly mate, and most appreciated.
They really were on top form, all I can say is roll on the next gigs and
roll on the next release lads.
Right Ive mumbled on enough. Apologies for the late review, but I've been
laid low with the flu since I got back. See? I dont do things by half
measures. Or drink by them either..
Stoo
