Hello all in Virtual Maddieland,

I tried sending this a few times already. Seems to be too big for the list
to handle, and it's not even that big!

I just felt the need to write and tell you of the anniversary of a very
important occasion for me. It was on the 8th of March, 1983 that I was
allowed to go to my first concert. And obviously this was no ordinary
concert. It was Madness at the Apollo Theatre in Glasgow, which is now,
sadly, no more. Mind you, I thought it was going to be no more that night
as I was up in the gods and 'Embarrassment' was played. The whole balcony
was swaying FAR too much. Especially for a 13-year-old experiencing his
first ever concert!

I was so excited that night. Going to see my heroes. My dad drove me and my
cousin in down the M8 and being a Tuesday in the early 80s, the new chart
was being announced on Radio One. I listened intently to find out where
'Tomorrow's Just Another Day' was. Unfortunately it was a non-mover at no.8
but I soon got over the slight disappointment as I was about to see my
heroes in the flesh. And after watching their appearance on The Tube
non-stop for the previous few weeks (and already declaring 'The Sun And The
Rain' to be the best song ever) I was ready for a brilliant night...

To be continued
Cheers for now,
Peter
