Just a short review of last Saturday's Hackney Empire show.

I arrived just in time to catch Suggs going in to the
Empire. There were quite a few 'professional' autograph
hunters hanging around so I didn't get much time to speak
to him unfournately. One of the first things I noticed was
how fit Suggs is looking at the moment.

The show started at 8.00pm and the first half was
sterotypical London cockney songs and music hall. The
second half started with Shaun Williamson singing Walking
with Memphis and then Suggs (who was wearing a very nice
dark blue suit) singing .........you guessed it, It Must Be
Love.

The noticable thing was the heavy drumming which added to
the performance, in terms of being different from the
record. Suggs was also accompanied by a choir associated
with the Hackney Empire. Suggs got the most cheers that
night and most of the camera flashes including mine went
off when Suggs was on stage.

I decided to leave after Suggs and make my way back home to
Camden.
