Hi everybody,

>From this month's Q magazine:

Where It's At (Mapping rock 'n roll's landmarks)
Madness: Madness Presents The Rise & Fall

"Primrose Hill was somewhere that had featured in most of the band's lives,"
says Madness frontman Suggs, discussing the use of the north London park on
the cover of the band's 1982 album. "We all came from the surrounding area
so we'd always had good memories of the place. Primrose Hill was somewhere
you could play football or, in the winter, go tobogganing, so it'd always
been a place of fun and frolics."

With a track called 'Primrose Hill' on the album, the location seemed doubly
natural. Meanwhile, the shoot also saw the band dress-up in costumes that
reflected some of the album's songs with, for example, Suggs as Mr Speaker,
keyboardist Mike Barson as New Delhi Mike and guitarist Chris Foreman sat in
an armchair watching TV, representing Our House.

"Some titles were too abstract, so it came down to doing one you could
visualise," says Suggs. "You had first choice on a song you'd actually
written, no one could bagsy it."

Photographer Laurie Lewis decided to use a special camera that moved through
180 degrees. "Everyone needed to be in the right place as the camera swung
round," recalls Suggs. "We had to sit, very, very still".
