Suggs is turning his hand to radio comedy in a duet with Bob
Monkhouse.
The singer and TV host is starring next month in a new BBC Radio 4
series I Think I've Got A Problem alongside the veteran comic.
Monkhouse plays psychiatrist Dr Boone who treats Suggs's character Tom
Caine when he wakes to find a band constantly playing in his head and
cannot stop singing.
Tom's illness sees him blurting out songs at inopportune moments,
Tourette's Syndrome-style, while he gives work presentations and while
making love.
In the bizarre comedy, his consultations are all in verse and to a drum
backing, with the two occasionally singing together.
A Radio 4 spokeswoman said: "It's very funny and highly original."
Suggs, who had a string of hits in the 1980s with Madness before
embarking on a solo career, co-wrote the songs.
The band, which only Tom can hear, features impressionist Phil Cornwell
of BBC2's Stella Street, and drummer Andrew McGibbon, the series
co-writer, who has performed with acts including
Morrissey.
