Sounds like a goodie bud - sorry to miss it, I'll make the next one, honest!

Subject: [total-madness] A Short Review - McMadmeet 3 and a half

Afternoon punters!

Last Sunday saw a mini madmeet take shape in the form of "McMadmeet 3 and a
half". Several of us got together for a small drinky-poo and a large
sing-a-long with Buster from Bad Manners. Here's the story....

Everyone met up in O'Henry's drinking house from 3.30pm to 5.30pm. We
included myself, my burd, my sister, Wee Stoo, Wee Stoo's burd, Peter 'The
Doc' Gardner, Rob Wardlaw and a huge welcome was made to Chris Carter-Pegg
and Emma, all the way up from England and on a short detour from the
Edinburgh festival.

Our paths took us up towards the east end of the city, where we congregated
in a fine watering hole called Bairds Bar. To the un-informed, this bar is a
favourite haunt of Wee Stoo, where he likes to partake in karaoke, nights
out, days out and a general celebratory nature of all things green. We know
he's a Bhoy deep down!

Into the Barrowlands itself about 8pm where Wee Stoo and his burd put my
drinking shame of McMadmeet 3 firmly to bed as their uncontrollabe puppy
love and swooning combined with a sever inability to hold more than 5 pints
each, led to them not even seeing the gig!!!! Shame on you BOTH! They snuck
away before anyone noticed.

My worst fears came true however, after a shocking warm-up act called
"Mutterfly" bored us sensless. They werent even a ska band. Utter trash are
the only words to
properly describe them. I think even they knew they were onto a loser when
they came on stage and the singer said "We are Mutterfly - and we are
sorry".

With the place not even half-full BM came on stage to "Echo 4-2" and then
"This Is Ska". Throughout the gig all the usual stuff was played, but what
made the night for me even stranger was that the atmosphere was superb!
Despite the numbers, every skinhead in the house made it a night to remember
and the band played superbly with some classical comedy moments. Buster said
"It's always a pleasure to come back to Glasgow" before turning round,
baring his arse and leaving.

And now on with the customary awards after a Madmeet.

HERO of the meet
-----------------------
Actually it's heros' - Chris Carter-Pegg and Emma for their efforts getting
there. I hope you both had a great day out and I'm looking forward to seeing
you both again.

VILLAIN of the meet
-------------------------
Actually it's villains - Wee Stoo and his burd for not being able to hold
their drink sufficently and then disappearing without a word.

Award for Sweatiness
----------------------------
My burd Gail - it was so hot in the venue and after a night skanking her
jeans made her look like she had just pee'd herself!

Award for comic timing
------------------------------
Peter Gardner - for announcing he likes the band ABC.

Award for drinking capacity
----------------------------------
Me - cos I always do ;-)

That's all for now.

Regards,

Mr.G
