Hi all, I've been asked a few times if we still do our Monday night chats
for TMML. After a bunch of us decided that the about.com site redesign
was too much of a pain to use, the chats just kind of died out. But
tonight, we'll meet at 6:00 p.m. (U.S. - Eastern) / 11:00 p.m. (U.K. time)
in the chatroom on Al's site:

        http://www.outrageouscreations.com/madness/Madchat/madchat.html

I hope some of you can join us. (No special software is required.) And
of course, come earlier, or later, if you'd like... hopefully there will
be a few up for chatting. :)

And about DQMOT.... like I said before, I'm not 100% sure if there are 500
or not. Actually, it would be near impossible to find out for sure but
here is some info that was posted regarding DQMOT back in June 99:

> According to urban legend, this promo-only release (MAD1 is the catalog
> number) only achieved a pressing-count of 500, which would make it "the
> rarest of Madness releases"....seeing as there's only 500 and it was
never commercially released.

> I'm not so much a believer of the "only 500" legend, since on two
separate occasions (first in 1986 and then this year) when speaking to
different band members, I'd asked, "So, how many of these things were
floating around, really?" Barson (this year) seems to recall seeing
"boxes of them at Stiff" (and btw, you could have bought these promo only
critters at the Stiff office

> But it is worth tracking down, for there is a different mix of Don't
Quote Me On That on this 12" single (die-cut sleeve, not picture sleeve,
and hand-written label in Suggs' handwriting, from what I've been told.)
The b-side is Swan Lake.

I see them pop up on occasion at record stores around the US, so if
you're looking for one, just be patient and keep your eyes peeled.

That's all I know about it, folks! Record fairs are probably your best
bet. I've found some pretty amazing stuff at travelling fairs that come
to Holiday Inns, believe it or not. If you can wade your way through all
of the Elvis vendors to the strangest looking fellow's booth in the dark
corner, that's where the treasures usually lie. And a lot of times, they
have no clue these records should be more than a few dollars. ;)

Don't forget the chat!
Hope you all are well.

Love,
jenny
