Subject: [total-madness] The rise and
fall of a bank holiday weekend
I decided that I would buy myself a new pair of
Doc Martens, I have a pair for work and a pair for going out but I thought
that you can't have too much of a good thing. The plan was leave work about
noon get to the Wollaston Doc Shop at about 3PM and if I can't find anything I
like I can try the Doc Shop at Rushen & Diamonds FC club
shop.
I'd finished all my work at 12.45 so walked
towards the door when my boos asked me if I could just nip out make a
delivery, me being the mug I am said yes even thought I'd arrange to pick
my girlfriend up at 2. I got home at about 1.45 so after a quick phone call
and a quick shower I hit the road. Went to both Doc Shops couldn't find a pair
I liked so i decided to drive up the A45 to Northampton to see if the Doc Shop
their had anything. While driving into Northampton we say a sign advertising a
fun fair so we thought we'd give it a go after our shopping. To cut a
long story short I found a pair of boots and as I was fitting them on One Step
Beyond could be heard over the shops sound system. Their was loads of the DM
books around the shop and as I was flicking thought a copy I came across the
Madness pages Alison's finger pointed to the picture of Suggs as quick
as a flash (i'm training her well). I decided to Buy a Dm T-shirt as well
as me boots, the T-Shirt was 4.99 and the boots 20 whcih is
about 30 less than the normal price I went to the checkout and asked how
much for one of the Books the bloke behind the counter said you get them free
when you spend over 50 but seeing its a bank holiday he would let me
have one.
As I seem to remember at the Blackpool Auction
someone paid 21 for a copy so I was feeling fairly happy at this
point. Went to the Fair I won a Bob The Builder toy and
Alison won a pig. Parking spaces were a bit thin on the
ground so I decided to pull up behind a long queue of cars parked on a
double yellow line feeling as lucky as I did I wasn't too worried and
whats the chances of a Traffic Warden working on a bank holiday. Got back to
the car checked for wheelclamps, nothing. Off I drove but about about 1/2
mile up the road we noticed something yellow stuck to the window. The air
turned blue then I saw the funny side... I saved 30 on my boots got a free
book and a 60 parking fine so looking at the whole
picture I wasn't as lucky as I thought but at least I manged to get a copy of
the DM book.
The story doesn't end their I found out
the next day that Alisons dog had eaten Bob the Builder :o(
Thats the end of report of my weekend,
I'm sorry if some of you found it boring but I'm just a boring person with
nothing better to do.
Goodnight
