Just thought I'd throw in my thoughts on this matter.
First off, I think Colin Galbraith had the guts to
just state what HE thinks, putting his Mad fan hat
aside for a minute and coming clean... I like that! I
wish every fan had the courage to do that, to stand
back once in a while and REALLY survey the scene! I
agree practically 100% with all you wrote, my wee (not
sure about THAT one! heheheh) Scots matey, and as The
Foley said "some home truths" indeed. It's weird isn't
it that sometimes we're so engrossed in something and
think that our way (and ONLY OUR WAY!) is the
best/right way... it's like we're so secure in what we
believe that we can't let anyone or anything challenge
it! The way I see it, it's the fact that we are
INSECURE which makes us act like that, kinda like "I
KNOW I'm getting old, but I won't ADMIT it!" Now
what's with that? :) Madness have had THEIR slice of
the cake and ate it with feverish hunger in their day,
and while I LOVED 'Wonderful', I think it did pretty
well, even though it was a 'failure' when compared to
their previous material. In my opinion, Madness had
run their course (do you all REALLY want to see them
end up like The Rolling Stones?... come on now, be
honest!) and while 'Wonderful' was a pleasant addition
to their repertoire, it wasn't a NECESSARY one and
life would have gone on without it! Brutal point, I
know, but also a plain fact! Unless it was TOTALLY for
the money, I still don't see the reason for it! Like
Duran Duran... do you all really believe it's for the
fans or cos they like working together? Well maybe
that's PART of the reason, but the main one HAS to be
the money! I will stop here for now cos I'm off to
work but I'll write some more if I think of
anything... laterz gals and boys ~ TP
