Mountain Boy Reporting In ;

Be honest. A record label is not going to throw money
at promoting a new madness album of completely new material.
Like it or not. 15 years ago Lovestruck would have been no. 1.
But times change , fans get older.
Paul McCartney & The Rolling stones are huge artists , but neither
will have a top 10 single if they release a new song.

If madness have recorded a single , a diamond by all accounts ,
Virgin will only release a single if its promoting an album.
Virgin only make money by selling albums , not by selling singles ,
and therefore the single has to promote the album.
If I was head of virgin , or , manager of madness , its pretty obvious what
I would do. Put it on a new greatest hits package. It all ties in with the
musical and a tour pretty well , perfect timing infact.

Enjoy what there is. Its just music. They are blokes in their 40's who
enjoy
being Madness every now and then. They aint 21 anymore. They all have
families. You cant expect somebody to play the same songs day after day,
year after year and enjoy it. I would imagine one step beyond becomes a
tad tedious if you play it 500,000 times.

God Bless them , theyre back for more............................enjoy , it
might be the last time.
