Apologies if some of you have seen this before. I tried posting it to the
list on Friday but it didn't seem to appear. Second time lucky:

Evening all. On my way from Glasgow to the Newcastle gig, I stumbled across
this article in GNER's free in-train magazine. Good stuff.

STILL CRAZY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS

As the original Madness embark on a Christmas arena tour, we catch up with
band member Chris Foreman to see what the nutty boys have been up to since
the 1980s.

Livewire: What have you been doing for the last couple of decades?
Chris: 1982 Went out clubbing most of the time, when we weren't rocking all
over the world.
1984: Had an idea for a musical based on our songs - decided to call it My
House.
1985: Decided the musical idea was a bit suspect.
1986: Madness split up. Became a monk.
1988: Recorded an album with Chassy, Suggy and Thommy and called ourselves
THE Madness. Album v good but name maybe a mistake.
1990: Recorded an album called Crunch! with Thommy and called ourselves the
Nutty Boys. Album v v good but name maybe a mistake.
1992: Got married for the second time and decided to reform Madness. We did
a little warm-up gig in Finsbury Park.
1993: Had a son called Felix to add to my collection - Matthew (from an
earlier marriage) being my only pride and joy at the time.
1995: Got divorced again.
1997: Earned a load of money opening supermarkets, public fetes, crisp
packets etc.
1999: Partied like it was 1994.
2000: The 21st century (allegedly) arrived. Due to the amazing new
technology of this fantastic age I was finally able to buy an anti-gravity
flying machine and a robot to do the housework.
2001: Got married again
2002: Had a son called Frankie. Changed nappies and hung out in Mothercare.
Finished off my musical, which is called Our House and is playing at the
Cambridge Theatre (0870 890 1102).

LW: Has your music lasted well?
CF: For anybody who bought the original albums on vinyl, I would imagine
they're all scratched beyond recognition now due to repeated playing, so you
could say that, for those unfortunate individuals, the music contained
thereon has not lasted well. I would suggest buying our entire back
catalogue on CD to update it.

LW: Which Madness song do you most enjoy performing?
CF: The Prince is the most enjoyable as it was our first hit. There aren't
any I don't like, although I always dread House of Fun as I can't remember
the solo.

LW: Do you still wear baggy trousers?
CF: Not that baggy. Just a bigger size (33 and a 1/3)
