I saw in the Wall Street Journal a few days ago that Goldman Sachs is paying back its forced loan to escape the limit on pay to it's top executives -- something the other banks can't do. It is an interesting problem of microeconomics to figure out how this will affect the financial sector and the steepness of the financial power pyramid. I predict one thing the brains will now go to Sachs at monopsonist rates -- they will have no where else to work. (Note -- the other banks can't afford to buy out of the forced loans.
