3 different sources show there were fires in WTC 7 before either tower collapsed. There is evidence fires were set in WTC 7 prior to the collapse of either WTC 2 or WTC 1, which purportedly started the fires in WTC 7. There are photos showing small fires in WTC 7 (around floors 10-12 where the SEC and Secret Service were located), while WTC 1 & 2 are burning. And yes, those are fires, not lights, because a) the power was out in WTC 7 at the time, b) they are too bright for emergency interior lights, and c) it is not sunlight as the lower 2/3rds of the building is in shadow. And in subsequent photos, the fire is seen on other floors. Coincidentally the floors NIST claims caused the collapse. WTC 7 was evacuated after the first plane hit, when they were telling people in WTC 2 to go back to their offices. WTC 7's fire alarm was placed on "TEST" mode at 6:47am on 9/11 which would have ignored any alarms that went off and would not be shown on the operator's display. 1. Barry Jennings describes being told to evacuate after going up to the OEM and finding it abandoned. He and Mr. Hess take the stairs b/c the power is out by then. They reach the 6th floor when an explosion underneath them blows them up to the 8th floor. WTC 2 is still standing. He mentions while they are trapped in the building that it is very, very hot.
