As a workaround If you click on one of the indicators and click back on
the password field you can type your password right away.

Title:
  LightDM looses focus

Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Sometimes after I wake up from suspend, LightDM seems to lost focus to a
window in the desktop.
  I have a blinking cursor in the LightDM screen, and if I start typing
anything the cursor doesn't move, and the only way to bypass this is wait the
screen to turn off and on again (here I can type the password).
  This also happens when locking the screen.

  Description:  Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS
  Release:      14.04

  Lightdm version: 1.10.1-0ubuntu1

  How to reproduce:
  * Open a window and click on a text box (ex: login form in some web page in a
browser).
  * Lock the screen
  * Try to type your password to unlock it: the cursor blinks but doesn't move
at all;
  * Wait for the screen to turn off, do something to wake up the screen and
login;
  * Whatever you typed will be on the text input of the window you had focus
(in this example: the login form of the web page)

  What was supposed to happen:
  * After locking the screen or waking from suspend, I expected that typing my
password would unlock the screen.
