I updated from 12.04 to 14.04. After installation, I wanted to use the partner
repository and noticed, it was still pointing to natty
in /etc/sources.list/ (this was the first installed release on the computer,
as there is also the entry to the deb cdrom: .. pointing to natty in the first
line).

When un/checking the Partner distribution channel, in sources.list the
entry gets commented/uncommented but always pointing to natty.

I had to manually change sources.list, now it points to trusty and gets
commented/uncommented as trustry when clicking/unclicking in software
center.

This bug is possbly a duplicate of the follwing older bug:

Title:
software-center uses first installed version of ubuntu for partner
  repository after upgrade

Status in “software-properties” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
After upgrading from raring to saucy using do-release-upgrade and then
enabling partner repository in software-center GUI,
  /etc/apt/sources.list has:

  deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu raring partner

Manually editing sources.list changing to saucy fixes this.

  $ apt-cache policy software-center
  software-center:
    Installed: 13.10-0ubuntu1
    Candidate: 13.10-0ubuntu1
    Version table:
   *** 13.10-0ubuntu1 0
          500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ saucy/main amd64 Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Also seen on a computer that had been upgraded oneiric -> precise -> quantal
-> raring -> saucy, sources.list still had oneiric.
