Holding super key does not show shortcuts overlay.

Bug description:
I have a freshly installed Ubuntu 14.04 x64 . Recently I noticed that
while holding Super key (Windows key by default) the shortcuts
overlay does not appear anymore. The launcher along with the icon
numbers appear just fine but the shortcuts overlay is not visible
anymore.
Now when I disable the workspace switcher from System setttings ->
Appearance -> Behaviour Tab -> "Uncheck" Enable Workspace ,
everything works just fine .
I have a 1366 x 768 monitor .
I want shortcuts overlay to appear irrespective of whether workspace
is enabled or not.
I am attaching Image file when Workspace switcher is enabled (shortcut
overlay does not appear).
