As part of the big bug review for 16.04 LTS I have tested this on 15.10 and the bug is still there.
I create an empty document on desktop and then drag it to Trash in the Unity launcher making sure that Trash is highlighted. It does not work from the first time but it works from the second. ** Tags added: desktop-bugscrub-triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1409093 Title: Files do not move to the trash Status in Unity: New Status in unity package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: It has worked for a brief period of time, but now if I try to drag and drop any file from the desktop to the trash bin on the Unity launcher, no response is shown on-screen and the file stays on the desktop. I am reporting this as a bug as Ubuntu was literally just letting me drag-and-drop to the trash bin just a few minutes before. No updates were running at the period this stopped working.
