I guess I should look at backporting 1.0.8 back to precise which should
fix that.

  lxc-clone freezes if copied container is running [12.04 kernel 3.8]

Bug description:
  Cloning running container freezes (stops responding), stopping that
  container in second shell unfreezes clone process and successfully
  clones container.
