This problem fix is contained in this branch: https://code.launchpad.net/~artmello/gallery-app/gallery-app-new_header/+merge/231601 (which replaces the toolbar with the new header, fixing the problem since the toolbar was creating a MouseArea on top of the pinch area causing the problem). It will also require version 1221 of the SDK to be landed.
