Please install evtest, run "sudo evtest", pick the plausible device
(there might be several, and if you don't get events on one, try with
another), press the two brightness keys, and copy&paste the output here.
Please annotate the output with which key you actually pressed (i. e.
"this is the output after pressing britghtness down:").

Finally, please give me the output of "cat /sys/class/dmi/id/modalias".

Title:
Lenovo S21e: brightness keys seem inversed

Status in systemd package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Fresh install of Xubuntu Trusty (14.04.3 64bit) on a Lenovo S21e.

The brightness +/- keys work, but their function seems to be reversed:
  - minus makes it brighter
  - plus makes it darker

Additionally, the screen goes completely off (no backlight) when
reaching the lowest or highest brightness step.
