Title:
Network mounts don't get unmounted on ifdown

Status in sysvinit package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: initscripts

  This is for Ubuntu 6.06.1.

When a network interface comes up, network mounts from fstab get
mounted via /etc/network/if-up.d/mountnfs. But if the (single present)
network interface gets shut down via ifdown, the network mounts don't
get unmounted beforehand, resulting for example in timeouts when
listing the directory where the network mount is (or should be)
  mounted.

Now there's the problem if more than one network interface is present,
so that network mounts can't simply be automatically unmounted on
every ifdown via a script in /etc/network/if-down.d/.
