login screen don't show sometimes, and if it often freeze

Bug description:
After upgrading from 10.04 to Ubuntu 12.04
somtimes login screen don't open,
and when it do, it sometime freeze,
The curser don't work,
and I can't write anything.
I have to shot off the power to close down.
Alt + F2 and Ctrl + Alt + F1 , login
gives no reaction.
I use a Ubuntu certified HP machine,
and with 10.04 I had never problems.
