This still happens, and actually spikes in ~90% cpu. But its completely transient, dropping back to ~2% pretty quickly. This happens only through the animation & transition and frankly I would have expected this. Transitional animations are just bursty & "expensive" operations (both on cpu & gpu). In order to achieve the nice UX experience with the smoothness & snappieness that we have, I'm not sure we can consider this a bug.
