Title:
Please downgrade gnome-terminal from a dependency to a recommendation

Status in “ubuntu-meta” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
Pleaes downgrfade gnome-termina from a dependency to a recommendation.
There are a couple other libgnome terminals available, and those users
who are particular about terminals tend to be very much so, to the
point of only wanting one terminal application present in the menus.
Given that using a terminal is ideally not a core component of the
Ubuntu Desktop experience, users ought be provided with the same
flexibilitity provided with games, web browsers, media players, or
  similar vertical solutions.
