Title:
X freezes when screen enters sleep mode

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
When the system enters sleep mode, Xorg appears to freeze. When the
system wakes back up, there is just a black screen. There is no
apparent way to get the system back once this happens. Interestingly,
the system does not appear to be completely frozen, in that it is
still possible to SSH into the machine in this state. However, the
local console is completely unusable. Note that this is on a very new
Intel Broadwell-U notebook using integrated video.

I am running Ubuntu 15.10 Wily x86-64. My Xorg version is:
  1:7.7+7ubuntu4.
