It's true, it was in connection with the fix of bug #1441210, and in line with what upstream (Debian) did.
However, as from Ubuntu 16.04 fonts-roboto lives in its own source package: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fonts-roboto Medium and Black are back there, as can be seen here: https://packages.debian.org/sid/all/fonts-roboto-hinted/filelist If you are not on 16.04 yet, you may want to download the fonts-roboto and fonts-roboto-hinted packages and install them manually. So, this is "fixed" in 16.04. We won't backport the resurrection of those weights. ** Changed in: fonts-android (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to fonts-android in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1580341 Title: fonts-roboto (1:4.3-3ubuntu1.2) missing the Medium and Black fonts Status in fonts-android package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: The update fonts-roboto (1:4.3-3ubuntu1.2) dropped the Medium and Black fonts in fonts-roboto (1:4.3-3ubuntu1) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fonts-android/+bug/1580341/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
