OK, got over both sickness and a very severe attack of real life. Herewith video showing me attempting to make another attachment to this bug after selecting the image I was able to tap the text entry field, which made the keyboard come up and the text entry field was outlined in orange but no characters entered were displayed. I flipped out to the today screen and back to the browser after which I could enter text.
Incidnetally I am attaching the video and typing /this/ entry with keyboard, mouse, and camera card in a USB reader plugged into the tablet. when using a keyboard to do this I had no similar problems. Touch text field, keyboard pops up.. Field is not highlight orange, letters typed do not appear.. You /can/ move the insertion point and delete with the backspace key, but you can't enter new letters. Work-around.. Flip out to another scope e.g today, and enter text there e.g. Search box - keyboard works there.. Flipback to browser, text field you left already orange bordered, keyboard works.
