LXC isn't running by default, it isn't even installed by default.
LXD is installed by default in server and cloud images as was decided by the
product manager for those.
The only resources LXD uses is disk space as it's socket activated and
will not actually run until you talk to it (so no CPU or memory use at
all).

Could someone please explain to me the dumb decision to activate LXC
by default in a default install of 16.04LTS ?
What's wrong with the obvious process that *IF* I want virtualisation,
I can either activate the service or install the package.
Why on earth run it by default and waste un-necessary resources on the
system ?
