putting this to Fix Released as the new spread visuals don't require
this darkening overlay any more. If I'm misunderstanding the report and
this is still an issue with the new spread, please reopen.

Bug description:
On the phone, when doing a right swipe, we can see that there's a
indicator-sized black area above the app, with animated opacity. It is
clearly visible when there's no other applications running than the
Dash.
