I have tried downgrading to libreoffice 5.1 using the debs on the libreoffice official website but to no avail. Sometimes the gradients show up but distorted on other occasiones the colours do not show at all. This problem started when I upgraded from Lubuntu 16.04 to 16.10. As I use Impress a lot I'm currently downgrading back to 16.04. Screen shows edit mode.
