Phone User Interface frequently hangs/freezes

Bug description:
Since installing OTA10.1 on my BQ Aquaris 4.5 I have frequent locks of
the user interface. When that happens the touch-screen does not react
to any input.
However, the system seems to work in the background. When I log in
using ssh I can execute commands even while the screen is locked. Also
the power button seems to work, the screen switches on and off.
Also, but I don't know if it's related. After a few days of uptime
apps crash shortly after starting them. I have observed this with the
phone and the contacts app.
Can gather and provide logs, if needed.
