Yeah, that's because QML MouseArea isn't very smart wrt
mouseEnter/Leave/Move events; it works only as long as you move the
mouse alone and breaks when the MouseArea itself moves under the cursor
:/

Will have to think of some workaround

  maximized button stays in the hover state until you move the mouse if
  you right  click on maximize

  open random app, right click on maximize button in title bar. the
  button looks like the mouse pointer is over (hover) but the mouse
  pointer is not there, remains like this until you move the mouse.
