you don't need to install any external packages for i915 graphics.. if
you want to use a newer kernel then just install linux-generic-hwe-16.04
or -edge

It seems as if the basic Intel graphics drivers seem to be missing,
when I install the Intel program it seems to fail everytime. Since
this is on a duoboot laptop It would be more than a little tricky to
reinstall.
