Hmm, the patch along with the one from gtk+ <https://git.gnome.org/browse/gtk+/commit/?id=02ccfb5d62430590b11b2d3e34b6100e4a6ddcda> doesn't fix it for me - does it for you?
I also noticed that gtk3-widget-factory is also transparent.
