If this is related to having two monitors, this is only one of numerous problems I have with 14.04 and dual monitor support, and that my two monitors are different sizes. 14.04 is simply terrible with dual screens. It seems the further we go to try to support the unified mobile/desktop UI for the casual user, the less useful we get for "power users".
If there's anything I can do to help diagnose this issue, please ask. I'm happy to help but don't have time to dig into any code.
