Imho this is a mild security issue. For instance, we have a number of managed clients that rely on unattended-upgrades to install security patches every day. This bugs prevents those daily updates to run and it has the potential to be overlooked in automated environments like ours.
Bionic desperately needs the the patch from https://github.com/mvo5 /unattended-upgrades/commit/72cf879db2ccc21cb8f0885ce4d9cb82f70fedaf #diff-6c85bf717c6bff92cf4c9076f32c3f16L1529 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unattended-upgrades in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1795696 Title: /usr/bin/unattended-upgrade:UnboundLocalError:/usr/bin/unattended- upgrade@1991:main:do_auto_remove Status in unattended-upgrades package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in unattended-upgrades source package in Bionic: Confirmed Bug description: The Ubuntu Error Tracker has been receiving reports about a problem regarding unattended-upgrades.
