Title:
audio output is glitchy and at incorrect sample rate. Sounds like
it's playing 2x too fast.

Bug description:
1. Ubuntu 10 was fine. Audio played back correctly with no
modifications.
2. install clean from disc 10.10 and then install mp3 codecs and audio
is at the wrong sample rate. Correct drivers installed
