Title:
Headphones don't work. Mic works poorly after upgrade to oenric

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Numerous regressions in alsa after upgrading the OS to 11.10.

  1. Headphones no longer work. It doesn't detect the plugging in of the
headphones, if you set the output to headphones explicitly no sound comes out.
  2. Gnome alsamixer segfaults on launch.
  3. Internal microphone recording quality is atrocious. There is a very loud
hum and the recorded sound is very low. Attempting to boost the recording
volume also makes the sum louder until there is so much distortion it hurts
your ears.

ALC269 Analog. I tried all the options in the HD-Audio-Models.txt
but none of them seemed to make any difference.
