Title:
[Realtek ALC269VB] ALSA test tone not correctly played back, sound
does not work after booting into windows in a dual-boot system, and
requires that I boot into recovery mode to have the sound back again!
Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I am using Ubuntu lucid 10.04.1 LTS
And in dual boot I also have Windows XP
This is Dual boot, not a wubi installation!
This is a Asus eee pc 1001px.
Very few software installed, and the ones installed are very common:
audacious, open office, chrome...
Every time I boot into windows, usually to use Skype (because internal
microphone does not work at all in my Ubuntu desktop, yes that's
another sound problem I have:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/689258), so
after booting into Windows, the sound does not work when I boot into
ubuntu again!
I have to reboot the system into recovery mode, shut down, and then
boot again ubuntu, so that I have the sound finally back working
again!
What's the problem with this? Do you know how to correct this bug?
Do you also know how to set the internal microphone working? I have
tried every suggested solution. No result so far.
I am tired of these sound bugs in ubuntu that seem to have no
solution.
