Bug description:
I am running Ubuntu 10.10 on a Toshiba Satellite C655. In order to use
the external microphone and headset I added the line: "options snd-
hda-intel model=thinkpad" to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf.
Although the external microphone and headset now work, the microphone
volume is very low. If I set the microphone volume to maximum, it is
barely usable on SKYPE. When running Windows 7 on the same laptop,
there is no problem with low microphone volume.
I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 and alsa-base 1.0.23+dfsg-1ubun
