Bug description:
When I first plugged in the external sound card, everything worked
fine with no changes on settings or extra driver installations. After
a few days, the sound just stopped working.
I tried some fixes posted on the ubuntuforums but to no avail.
I tried killall pulseaudio but nothing happened. I keep trying
alsamixer but mixer doesn't exist. I tried to install the alsa driver
module but it doesn't exist.
I tried pavucontrol and the mixer does show that audio is being
played.
My setup goes from the pc to an external sound card via usb to AV
receiver via coaxial cable. The receiver and coaxial cable plays sound
perfectly well, just not on ubuntu.
Any help is much appreciated.
