Hi Marcus,Many thanks for the alert. I've added a post to the Launchpad thread
so won't do a big repeat here but sufficient to say it was still unable to
produce sound using Ubuntu 18.04. Sadly it died just last week and at 14 years
of age lazarus is an unexpected event for it. The workaround for no sound was
also pretty simple with a USB sound card which aways worked perfectly for not
too much money.
I can't see that more work on this is really justified. It seems to apply just
to the Philips models which I don't think were produced for all that long so
the law of diminishing returns is well and truly engaged with it.I was though
rather touched to get your message and humbled that you and your colleagues
were still keeping my original post in mind over 6 years after I wrote. Thank
you for all that attention and thank you once again for the alert.
