This bug still affects me and no fix or workaround in sight. That is quite annoying. Do you have any suggestions?

For some weeks, this device has disappeared. I can only chose the internal speakers for audio output. I’m not quite sure but this bug could have appeared after dist-upgrading to 14.04.
