Title:
[To Be Filled By O.E.M., ATI R6xx HDMI, Digital Out, HDMI] No sound at
  all

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
I clicked on sound icon (upper right corner of screen in Unity), then
sound settings, to test my soundcard as mostly, I'm not getting any
sound. The only time it starts working, is when I do some update, and
I notice in the log that an HDMI hot plug event has occured, then
sound test is successful. Upon reboot, sound test fails again. Do
you know of how I can do this "HDMI hot plug event" as a work around?

  Codec: Realtek ALC888

I tried adding the following line to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
  options snd-hda-intel model=6stack-digout

  then, sudo alsa force-reload gives:
Unloading ALSA sound driver modules: snd-hda-codec-hdmi snd-hda-codec-realtek
snd-hda-intel snd-hda-codec snd-hwdep snd-pcm snd-seq-midi snd-rawmidi

snd-hda-intel snd-hda-codec snd-hwdep snd-pcm snd-seq-midi snd-rawmidi

  still no sound.

  alsactl -v gives:
  alsactl version 1.0.25

tried installing driver from AMD website:
amd-driver-installer-12-2-x86.x86_64.run
  still no sound.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
