Title:
Pulseaudio does not play in virtual console
Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
On a single user system Pulseaudio is difficult to enable for single
user operation of the system. This means that audio stops when
switching to a virtual console from xorg. This defeats the point of
having players like MPD that play outside of the xorg server. Security
is important but there should be an option available to setup
Pulseaudio at installation time for a single user system. It is
possible to change the behavior by adding the current user to the
correct group (one or all of audio, pulse and pulse-control,) or
disabling console-kit in Pusleaudio default.pa. I did not have time to
confirm the entire procedure.
