Title:
[2516CTO, Conexant CX20585, Speaker, Internal] Playback problem -
  amplification

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
it is impossible to stop the amplification by using plain keys

so if want to use the amplified volume of my laptop i have to open a
window and choose to increase the volume

which makes the shortcut on the keyboard meaningless..

you need to display a warning instead of forcing people to open a
  window for that
