Title:
  [MacBook6,1, Cirrus Logic CS420] Playback problem6, Green H

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
The macbook jack works both as a normal audio jack and a digital
optical audio out jack. Which is used is suppose to be dependent on
which cable you plug in, there is a small switch inside which is
pressed when the digital optical audio out wire is plugged in. In
ubuntu the red light comes on and shines out of the jack and sound is
very faint out of the inbuilt speakers, ubuntu is wrongly detecting
the optical audio out and it seems to be on by default. I can confirm
its not hardware as I'm dual booting with OS X and when i boot into
that it functions correctly. When the digital optical audio out lead
is plugged in its suppose to disable the internal speakers which it
does (sort of - its played very quietly through the internal speakers)
however like i said above, no cable is plugged in so it should default
  to the internal speakers.

I am happy to provide any information and help debug to get this
  fixed.
