Title:
sound crashed while trying to watch web video, doesn't recover after
  reboot

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
I was trying to watch Quartermass on dailymotion because Warren Ellis
recommended it and the sound didn't come through. Then it seemed like sound
didn't work on any other pages. Then I tried using banshee and that didn't
work either. Then I looked up how to troubleshoot audio issues and running
ubuntu bug audio was recommended.
  I'm using ubuntu 11.04
